"Suspected brain tumour"

About: Pinderfields General Hospital / Neurology

9 weeks ago I came into A&E with severe left side weakness that came on quickly, after being there 3 1/2 hrs before speaking to the doctor I was given a CT scan, whilst waiting for the results a nurse from the stroke unit snapped at me that there wasn't a lot wrong with me as I'd managed to work the previous day. 20 minutes later I was told that the CT scan had shown a growth. I was kept in and after 4 days had an mri scan, this showed something 2x2 that shouldn't be there. After being sent home I am still waiting 9 weeks later for someone to bother telling me what is growing and what they are going to do about it. It is disgusting that people get left with no follow ups or any kind of communication when it is quite obvious there is a major problem that is life changing.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments on NHS Choices.

I am concerned to read that you have been left with out any follow up appointments or communication since you had the results from your MRI scan.

I would urge you to either contact the Neurology department directly or contact our PALS team on 01924 542972 (Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm) or email pals@midyorks.nhs who should be able to find out some information for you.

Thank you again.

Kind regards

Clare Blackburn
