"Excellent experience"

About: Royal Orthopaedic Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

After putting it off for over two years due to franky being scared stiff

I had my hip replaced at ROH. I need not have worried as it all went

well and thanks to the surgeon I have a state of the art

replacement giving a good range of movement. They even gave me the go

ahead to tie shoe laces after 6 weeks! I hope to be fully recovered in a few months but already the hip feels that it is part of me and there is

no feeling of having something mechanical inside me. There was no

unexpected pain after a few weeks so I only have some post-op stiffness

to deal with through the excercise program. The staff were all kind,

helpful and in some cases entertaining and although I am fussy about what I will eat the food was excellent. I had been worried about using stairs at home but with guidance from the physios that proved to be no problem. I dont believe that I could have been treated any better!

Thank you for your kind comments. It is always good to understand how patients feel about the services that we offer and I am really pleased to see that the operation went so well for you. Hopefully, should you be in a position in the future to need our help, it might feel a little less scary!

Kind Regards

Lisa Kealey
