I went to Kidderminster Hospital last Tuesday to have the varicose vein in my right leg treated. This has been causing me a good deal of discomfort so I was delighted that despite the funding problems in the NHS caused by the Government, my surgery went ahead. The surgeon, Mr Goodyear, was calm and very professional and was supported by a great team of nurses who were caring and cheerful. Each stage of the procedure was explained to me both before, and as it happened, which was very reassuring. 4 days later I am totally pain free and back to walking my dog and normal activities. It is remarkable that despite 1% pay increases for the last 6 years the staff were still so dedicated and caring. Our NHS deserves more money. A very big thank you from me
