I found the outpatients car park to be very unsafe as it is riddled with potholes. More keep appearing and they are so close together that it is impossible to avoid them.
Earlier this week, when crossing the carpark from the Cardiology Clinic that I had just visited, the wheel chair in which I was being pushed unavoidably hit the edge of a pothole and I was thrown out and landed on the rough service of the carpark on my face, sustaining a long graze on my forehead and swelling and bruising to my eyes. My glasses were also broken.
As I am in my 80s and have limited mobility the incident could have been far worse.
For a car park is used by elderly and sick people, I think it is unsafe and is kept in a terrible state of repair.
I think the hospital trust needs to put pressure on the firm holding the maintenance contract to keep the car park in a safe and acceptable state of repair which does not seem to be happening at the moment as the carpark has been in this unsafe state for the fourteen months I have been visiting the hospital.
