"Just awful"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Maternity

Having had a fairly traumatic birth ( in a very small and dirty room) I was left for an hour alone with my baby, I asked for some help as I couldn't move and was told " we just deliver them, they're you're responsibility now. I was then given a bed on a ward in the middle of the night. As a new mother I received no help, not even a hello from the staff on the ward until some five hours later. I had no privacy and the only sink in the ward was next to my bed so lots of people , many of which were male ( I assume new dads , but who knows) kept coming to my bedside all hours of the day and night. Lots of mothers struggling on a ward whilst whole teams of staff stood gossiping at the nurses station. I felt alone , isolated, exhausted and let down by the staff and the hospital.
