"Not trans friendly"

About: De Montfort Surgery

The worst doctors surgery I have ever been to. I am transgender and the receptionist there just laughed at me for being transgender. The practise managers never call you back. Had a doctor delay me on purpose when i asked for a referral to a GIC which mean i have an extra wait of 8 months on top of the normal waiting list. Asked for the referral in June 2016 still waiting for my appointment. I asked a private doctor to write me a referral as well and recently found out that it is that one that got me on the waiting list. This means the Doctor did not even bother to write it.

A nurse there asked me why i did not want to be a man which is incredibly rude and also another doctor referred me to a male doctor because I am a transwoman. They are incredibly transphobic here. If you are transgender do not go here. They won't do any kind of bridging prescription or shared care.

They will not reply to complaints so it is difficult to get any further. The ombudsman want more info and things in writing so De Montfort get out of that by just ignoring complaints.

Thoroughly transphobic and the worst set of doctors in the UK.

Avoid Avoid Avoid .

We were sorry to read your comments that are staff have been regarded as “rude and offensive”. This is in contrast with the regular compliments we receive from our patients and visitors to the Practice about the supportive and helpful attitude of our receptionists. We shall be pleased to look into the issues further. Please contact our complaints officer and provide specific examples, e.g. date, time, receptionist’s name so we can investigate your concerns further.

We strive to provide the best quality care and service and always wish to hear from patients who can suggest how we can improve.
