"unpleasant"

About: Leighton Hospital

What I liked

Some friendly and caring staff

Seen quickly at a and e.

What could be improved

Not being left to wait up to 50 minutes in a side room after pressing the button to speak to a nurse, have commode emptied or asking for help with drip.

Actually having the commode emptied rather than having to sit with it in the room for long periods and having to reuse the same one. Then having to place one liner on the floor so that a clean one could be used. Absolutely no dignity in having the cleaner come in to wipe round your room whilst there is a dirty commode there.

Feeling that you cant have visitors because you are embarrassed that you know the commode will sit in the room for more than an hour on occasions because no one will empty it. having your partner sit in the room with your dirty commode because you are not to leave the room.

Being given water to drink- if you are in with dehydration surely it is a good idea to make sure you are given water.

Not having the buzzer turned off and being told that staff will be with you soon and then not seeing anyone again on more than one occasion.

i fully realise staff are busy but surely this is then an issue for management to make sure there are enough staff in.

Anything else?

I feel upset for the nurses in the hospital who do make an effort then have to read negative comments about the service they are offering.

I have left positive comments previously on here regarding the childrens ward but hope that I dont have the misfortune to return myself.
