"Efficient and caring."

About: Queen Elizabeth I I Hospital (Welwyn Garden City)

What I liked

I was at A + E following a cycling accident and thought I'd broken a collar bone. On arriving the queue time was shown as 4 hours but I was seen within ten minutes by the triage nurse and soon after was sent for an x-ray, the doctor saw me shortly afterwards and was extremely helpful. I was treated with respect throughout, given good information and thought the doctor was exceptional in taking time to examine me and give advice on exercises to aid my recovery. My total visit time was about 90 minutes.

What could be improved

Seating in the A + E reception is a bit dated and shoddy, otherwise everything was good.

Anything else?

This is the third time in about two years at A + E, once with my wife and once with my daughter. This experience was similar to the others and I'm impressed with the consistency of care.

Our emergency team at the QEII will be pleased to read your comments. You might be interested to hear that a recent inspection visit of the QEII's A&E service reached the same conclusions as you have just done about the high quality care they provide to their patients!

Once again, many thanks for your feedback - we wish you a continued speedy recovery.
