What I liked
I was thoroughly impressed by the professionalism, care and support I received during a difficult birth and this support ensured that what could have been a traumatic experience was extremely positive for me. At all times I was consulted upon the decisions that were made for my care during and truly felt that I could trust the judgement and expertise of the midwives and doctors who cared for me. I also received excellent support after the birth with breastfeeding and caring for my baby and all the staff I dealt with were extremely pleasant and helpful. I think the fact that the RHCH is a teaching hospital helps maintain this level of support and expertise - I am so pleased that I decided to give birth at Winchester Hospital.
What could be improved
Some of the facilities appear quite dated but this did not impact the level of care I received.
Anything else?
I was surprised to find that the hospital food was tasty and that there was a reasonable amount of choice.
"Overwhelmingly positive."
