I have had orthopaedic surgery today at the Day case unit- from the staff at the checking in desk to the nurse escorting me out to my husband they have all been absolutely fantastic. As a nurse myself it felt surreal being the patient rather than part of the team, every member of staff was very caring, attentive and professional making my experience as positive as it could be.
The nurse in the ‘block room’ was brilliant in keeping me calm and distracting me whilst having a procedure- she should be complimented on her valuable communications skills and professionalism. Also the male nurse (I am unable to remember his name) who looked after me once I returned back from recovery on the day unit ward was great, he has a great humour and put me at ease- he should also be complimented on his caring mannerisms.
I just want to say an overall thank you to all the staff on
the day unit, recovery and theatres, you all do a great job. Thank you
"Attentive, caring and professional"
