"Colonoscopy"

About: Dewsbury & District Hospital

I am a 71 year old woman and I had a colonoscopy at DDH on Jan 9th at 2.20pm.I was an urgent case referred by a consultant at Pontefract on 28 th December and referred by my GP on Dec 20th

I was obviously very apprehensive although I had had a colonoscopy before. From registering my name at reception and everything that followed I was treated with great respect and the care given to me was excellent. The medical staff answered all my questions and put me at my ease and the nurses on recovery were 'angels'.The NHS at present is getting so many negative reviews but I just wanted to say thank you to all who looked after me that day and also during my previous appointments. I don't know all your names but you are'simply the best'.Thankyou .Wendy Storey.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments on NHS Choices.

I can fully appreciate how apprehensive you will have felt as having any procedure can be a daunting time for anyone.

However, it is encouraging to read how supportive staff were and the fact that they were sympathetic to your anxieties.

Staff strive to provide a high standard of care and it is clear that this was your experience.

Thank you again and I will pass on your lovely comments to all of the staff involved.

Kind regards

Clare Blackburn
