To the staff on Dedham Ward, especially the nurse, who had particular responsibility for my father, my family and I were deeply appreciative of all the care and carefulness which was shown to my father, and also to my mother. When he died unexpectedly quickly in the early hours of last Wednesday, the way in which the news was broken to both myself and my mum could not have ben kinder, more professional or more gentle. I am so glad that my father was on your ward; everything I observed, heard and experienced pointed to the fact that the staff did everything possible to benefit him and give him every chance of recovery. I would like to express profound gratitude on behalf of us all, my mum, my brother and sister, and all 14 grandchildren and great-grandson. Vicky
