"Hernia surgery"

I attended the day surgery on 14-01-2018 for umbilical hernia surgery. It was my 1st experience of surgery and I admit that I was scared to death.

I arrived at the day surgery at time stated and all the staff from reception to surgeon were absolutely brilliant. They could tell I was very nervous and immediately calmed me down. The whole experience was fantastic considering the circumstances.

The nurses were really friendly and talked me through everything whilst checking me over ie blood pressure etc.

I was then taken to a room where the surgeon explained the procedure and what to expect after operation and then the anethetist came and explained his role and put me totally at ease.

I was then taken to another room and asked to lie down and the anethetist put a needle in my hand and then put an oxygen mask on me.

The next thing I knew was the nurse asking me if I would like a cup of tea. It was all over

I can't believe I had been so worried.

I would definitely recommend Rochdale day surgery to anyone requiring a procedure performed there.

The staff are wonderful but totally professional at all times
