I am a Lincoln resident and would like to share the following observation on LCH and the NHS
I recently had cause to visit my GP at Lincoln Minster practice
I had no problem in gaining a non urgent appointment within 48 hrs
Following the consultation, the doctor recommended that I request bowel cancer screening at LCH. ..i did so and was informed that there is an 8 week waiting list. Luckily I received a phone call next day from LCH Endoscopy unit informing me that they had a cancellation for the following day..ie today
I attended the appointment and am pleased to say that the service and treatment I received was impeccable
All staff from admittance to recovery room were impressively efficient, professional and courteous. The procedure was fully and compassionately explained and carried out with a continuous dialogue from the surgeon and accompanying staff offering both information and considerable reassurance.
I am thoroughly impressed by the level of professionalism and, equally importantly the level of "care" I received.
There is a great deal of concern over the current state of the NHS but in this small instance, I can't praise the staff enough. The NHS is and must remain one of our greatest achievements.
