My mum was admitted into Lambeth Hospital in early April 2011. On the following day i went to visit her and she seemed much better, more able to focus and make sense of certain conversations.
However i was displeased that when a nurse walked in the visiting area she asked me who i was only 2 hours after being there. When she asked who i was visiting and i told her she was unaware of who my mum was. That is very displeasing, she works there for she should know her patients.
On the notice board it states that on visiting hours a nurse must be present at all times. Today was my second day there and still no nurse.
Today when i went to visit my mother, instead of finding my mum having progress i found her agitated and distressed, not only her but other patients too. The alarm kept going off (5x at least) stating that there was a fight. Other families felt that we were treated as if we also were patients.
Most of the patients complained that they could not sleep at night with all the commotion around them, screaming, shouting, laughing...
I am very displeased that my mother is not improving under these circustances. I feel that the staff are lacking in professionalism and I am not only speaking on my behalf but on the other families that were visiting too.
I would like to see an improvement as the time passes not only for my mum but for the future patients too.
