"Everyone was amazing with both of my Miscarriages"

About: Salford Royal

I attended Salford Royal A&E in April 2017 with my 1st miscarriage, not knowing I was pregnant. The Nurse on the ward was so sympathetic and gave me the news I didn’t want to hear in the best way possible.

I attended in July, 15 weeks pregnant with a foetus I had passed at home. The only fault I have with the Hospital on this occasion is when the Triage nurse asked how I knew I was having a miscarriage, as if my baby in a box wasn’t enough!

The A&E department where so quick and efficient, I expected to be sat in the waiting room for hours as it was a Sunday night and quite busy, we were given a room on our own to deal with trauma instead of a cubical. I was then wheeled to another ward where I had to stay overnight for monitoring, the staff here were again sympathetic and amazing. I can’t fault any part of the hospital or any of the staff from the A&E department, EPU and SHDU.

Dear Georgia

Firstly, we are sorry to hear of your losses - please accept our condolences.

Thank you for telling us about your experiences. I am glad that at such a difficult time, you felt you were treated with such care and compassion.

It would really help us if you could let us know more about your experience, so that we can improve the way we communicate to those in our care, especially at such times as you described. The best way to do that is to contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS), on 0161 206 2003 or email them directly on pals@srft.nhs.uk with details of when you attended so that we can pass on your feedback to the team.

Thank you again for taking the time to share with us your experience at this very difficult time and for your kind words.
