On three occasions now I have I have had cause to query the whereabouts of my or my wife's' repeat prescription. It clearly states in a notice on the surgery reception window that repeat prescriptions should be submitted 72 hours before they will be available (used to be 48 hours). The latest prescription for my wife was paced into the surgery on Monday and I went to collect it from the pharmacy on Saturday only to be told that there was no prescription for my wife there. We always ensure that the repeat is requested more than 72 hours in advance (I have had this situation on two previous occasions and comments made by other customers in the pharmacy infer that this is a regular occurrence at this surgery) My wife phoned the surgery this morning, explained the situation and was told that there is no record of a prescription being placed in the surgery. The receptionist informed my wife that we could collect the prescription after 3 O'clock this afternoon. The last Doctor I saw (one I've never seen before and who never introduced himself) told me that I could not have a repeat medication because he had seen a letter from the specialist that prescribed the medication (and sent a letter to the surgery asking them to prescribe this for me for future use) stating that I was not allowed to have it. He also told me that I was wasting my time because I asked for an alternative medication. I have now lost patience with the situation and will be making a formal complaint about the surgery.
