"A Fantastic Level of Care Over a Very Busy New Year."

About: Victoria Hospital / Admissions Unit 1 (Emergency Medical) Victoria Hospital / General Medicine

(as the patient),

I was admitted to Ward 42 in Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy in December 2017 with a suspected stroke and extreme pain attacks from a combination of Somataform pain disorder and Shingles. After a few days I was moved to Ward 34 and then discharged after a week.

The care I had in Ward 42 headed up by Laura and Yvonne was second to none as they helped to control my pain attacks whilst the Doctors investigated my suspected stroke.  When I was moved to Ward 34, I received the same high level of attention and care from Gordon, Louise and Trish.  The Doctors concluded I'd had a palsy as a result of my Rheumatoid Arthritis and low immune system and I was discharged with a pain control regime devised by the nurses.  This was over New Year in a hospital at bursting point, with some staff on leave and some off sick.  I couldn't be more greatful and the food was super as well!
