I am expecting twins in April and have been a frequent inpatient and outpatient in the MAU, gyn ward and now maternity ward.
Even though the departments are clearly massively under pressure and the same staff work long shifts on a repeated basis, they are thorough and caring.
Every person takes time to get to know you and make sure you are comfortable, especially the care assistants and the midwives. I was given the option of Nottingham or Derby for my antenatal care and I am so pleased with my decision.
It is difficult for the Registrars to get to you due to their workload but if there is an emergency (as I had several times) they are immediately there. I am looking forward to what I hope will be a safe deliver
I would agree that it does take a long time to get discharged; however I believe this is due to them wanting to make sure you are completely well and not rushing you out the door.
Thanks all at RD!
