I was referred by my GP with a uterine prolapse to a consultant in the Gynaecology Department last year. The consultant I saw was very caring and sympathetic and keen to improve my quality of life. After unsuccessfully trying a ring pessary, a hysterectomy was suggested. I had had Crohn's Disease in the past so there was the chance of possible added complications, but these were taken into account by the consultant and explained to me very clearly.
I have now returned home after a successful total hysterectomy. I cannot find any fault with any of my care which was excellent throughout my short stay in hospital. As well the gynaecology consultant/surgeon and team, I would also like to mention the great care that I had from the anaesthetist and team just before the operation, and the staff on Ward 15 who looked after me for 24 hours before I was discharged.
"Amazing care from start to finish"
