"Badly broken ankle"

About: George Eliot Hospital - Acute Services / Accident and emergency

My daughter who has special needs badly broke her ankle and had to stay in hospital for a week as non weight bearing

All of the staff that cared for her were amazing very caring supportive and professional in a and e, on the day assessment and in ALexandra ward

I was allowed to stay with her in the circumstances and the staff looked after me really well also

The nurses on ALexandra were short staffed on occasion but still managed to provide excellent care nothing was too much for them they made sure she was comfortable and had regular pain relief

The care they gave to my daughter made an upsetting traumatic situation more bearable

Doctors / consultant who cared for my daughter were also very professional and caring and her care plan for surgery and after was very strict in order to achieve the best outcome due to her break being very bad ( she had to have plates put in )

I am sorry that your daughter broke her ankle. This must have been distressing for her. I am pleased, however, that all the staff looked after you both during her stay and your comments will be forwarded to the ward managerl. I hope that she is now on the way to a full recovery.

Kind regards
