"Urology team"

About: Medway NHS Foundation Trust

I was referred by GP before Christmas to the Urology team at Medway Maritime Hospital. There were 2 prior attempts which were unsuccessful due to a lack of post procedure observation beds as a result of ED pressures at the hospital.

The procedure was able to take place on 12th January as the team were able to book a guaranteed bed in Sunderland Day Case Centre. The procedure was performed efficiently and respectfully by Dr *, his anaesthetist and the nursing team overseen by Mr *. I was made fully aware of what was going to happen and felt in safe hands. The procedures took place without problems and I was transferred to Sunderland ward for observation.

I had hoped to return home that evening but unfortunately was delayed due to diuresis. I was impressed that Dr * came to see me later that evening even though he was off duty to see whether I could be discharged. Sadly I couldn't but was discharged the following morning. Well done Medway Urology
