"Excellent care & kindness from everyone involved"

About: Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust

My 89yr old mother had collapsed at home. The 111 service was very helpful & efficient & sent an ambulance which arrived in 7 minutes. She was kindly but efficiently examined & found to have very low oxygen levels & was immediately taken to st Helier hospital who were waiting for her after the ambulance crew phoned ahead.

Once in resus 1 she could not have received better care & attention. Everything was done so professionally, with great attention to detail & every member of the team caring & respectful & took time to ensure Mum & I understood what was happening. The excellent standard of care continued when she was admitted to AMU & stayed for 24 hours until stabilised. Please let the staff know how much we appreciated all they did & how they did it, especially on such a busy Sunday for the hospital in mid-flu crisis.

Only down point to entire stay was trying to get up to the new audiology unit (for new batteries) with Mum in her wheelchair before we left - impossible to get her in the tiny lifts! Couldn’t use the restaurant either.

Hello, thank you for your feedback. We reallly appreciate your lovely comments and will pass it on to the team.

We acknowledge that our lifts in Ferguson house are difficult to access. We have addressed this concern and new larger lifts are in the process of being built.
