On Tuesday 9th January 2018 I was admitted to Broomfield A&E by ambulance at around 10.30am, following me fainting at home. I cannot praise the treatment I received from the moment I arrived. I was booked in by the ambulance team (who were superb) and quickly moved to the general waiting area where I was called within about 30 minutes to be assessed. I was thoroughly examined, blood tests were carried and after a short time was called in to discuss the results. By 2.00pm, having been told I was fit to go home, I was discharged. The doctor who attended to me and the nurse who took my blood/ECG etc were very competent.
Listening to the media, particularly the BBC, the public are led to believe that the NHS is virtually at a standstill and collapsing
I am not naive in thinking that there are not huge problems dealing with peak demand at this time of the year but my experience was very different and positive. People were being dealt with very quickly in the general waiting area from what I observed and the treatment I received was exemplary. Well done to Broomfield A&E for looking after me expertly and quickly.
