"Treatment and care"

About: Musgrove Park Hospital / Respiratory medicine

(as the patient),

I had an infective COPD Exacerbation and I was very scared.

From the ambulance turning up and being taken to hospital, I was reassured all the way. The staff on the ward were brilliant and made me as comfortable as they could, apart from the heat. The ward was very warm and didnt feel ventolated.

The treatment I was given did the trick and got me back to a nice stable condition.

The COPD nurse from Threads was helpful, kind and very informative.

I am back home now slowly recovering but feeling safe in the knowledge that we have a brilliant Hospital here in Taunton.

Thank you for your feedback. It is always great to hear when care went well and the positive impact that specialists, like the Threads nurses make. We will make sure the positive feedback is shared with them.

I hope you continue to recover quickly.

Following on from Alison, I wanted to say thank you for taking the time to post your experience. I also followed up to check about the ventilation. Without knowing which ward you were on, I asked for a check on our two respiratory wards and have been advised by Paul Luxton, energy manager in estates and facilities, that both these areas have fully operational ventilation and both areas are meeting the recommended temperature set point for bedheads/wards at 22-24 degrees C (Current temperature 23.5c both areas).

I can understand that can feel warm for some people.

If you weren't on either of the respiratory wards, please drop me a line and Paul will gladly check if there are any issues with the other wards.

Wishing you all the best and thank you again for sharing your experience.

Karen
