"Gratitude"

About: Pontefract General Infirmary

My partner was admitted for a total knee replacement early morning.

Everyone was polite, pleasant , cheerful and extremely informative as to what would be happening.

They kept u fully informed all the time.

I only left when he went for surgery.

Unfortunately they could not perform the operation due to him having chest pains.

It transpired that it was angina not a heart attack, thankfully.

I quickly returned to the hospital to be offered a cup of coffee and reassured that he was doing well. at know time were we (his family) made to feel that we were in the way and nothing seemed too much trouble.

Sorry to say that the same could not be said about Pinderfields when he was transferred for further tests.

Will not go into that here.

If I could say to anyone which hospital to go to it would certainly be Pontefract.

Once again grateful thanks from all his family.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments on NHS Choices.

I am really pleased to hear of your positive experience when your partner was in for surgery at Pontefract.

It is reassuring to read that staff took the time to explain everything to you and I can appreciate how worrying if must have been for you all.

I will pass on your lovely comments to staff as they will be thrilled with your feedback.

I am concerned to note your feedback regarding Pinderfields and wondered if it would help if you spoke to our PALS team to discuss these further.

They can be contacted on 01924 542972 (Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm) or via email on pals@midyorks.nhs.uk.

Thank you again.

Kind regards

Clare Blackburn
