"14-day wait for test results and other issues."

About: Royal Berkshire Hospital

In this time and age, I find the 14-day waiting time for test results to be totally unacceptable, whilst other clinics - not far from Reading - give results within seven days and some within 24 hours.. This is just behind the times for an up and coming town like Reading.

Moreover, doctors and nurses at the clinic should accept that people do have sex.

That,

Women have sex with men.

Men have sex with men

And, women have sex with women.

The raising of the eyebrows and almost avoiding the issue should stop.

I had a bad experience with a doctor who made me feel like a piece of dirt for being of a certain sexual persuasion.

You should employ more doctors with whom male patients can talk freely about their issues.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about your visit to the Sexual Health Department - we are sorry to hear that on this occasion this was not a good experience for you. The department are already taking steps to try and improve the turnaround on results and do agree that 14 days is too long to wait at what is often a very difficult time. Hopefully, patients will see an improvement in the future.

We were disappointed to read about the judgmental attitude of the clinician that you experienced on your visit and would like to assure you that this is not what we expect from our staff. Your feedback will be shared at our team meetings and the issues that you have raised will be immediately addressed.
