"Shoulder dislocation"

About: Stepping Hill Hospital / Emergency Department Stepping Hill Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

Walking on a good footpath I stumbled with hands in the side pockets of my fleece, dislocating my shoulder as a result. Admitted to A& E as an emergency (code yellow I think). Due to my contortion paramedics denuded me in the ambulance with shears in order to attach electrodes in case of possible heart or stroke condition. My stretcher was zoomed from the ambulance to Resus where the displacement was attended to asap. The accident was at 4 p. m. and I was home by about 10 p. m. Very very impressed by the whole experience - - - just very very sorry to admit that I had been so careless.
