"Birth Centre-Thank you midwives!"

About: Royal Preston Hospital / Maternity

I would like to thank the countless midwives at Royal Preston Birth Centre who made my first birth a seamless and empowering process. From the encouraging words, massages, constantly carrying me to the bathroom, feeding me water, working in tandem with my husband, staying by me in the pool- your patience with me and support will not go forgotten. It was only after my extremely long hours of labour when I finally held my beautiful daughter in my arms and looked around that I realised that everything was adhered to in my birth plan. I also desperately wanted a water birth and you helped us achieve this.

The after care we received whilst we stayed at the Birth Centre was even more incredible- we must have asked dozens of questions (which seem silly when I think back now!) and everybody was more than happy to help- plus our daughter receiving plenty of cuddles and affection from everyone has only made our first memories as new parents more wonderful. My husband and I went home feeling confident and ready (as you can be). My only regret is that I didn't get a chance to write this sooner. Thank you!

If there were ever real life super heroes- it would be midwives. You are all doing an amazing job. Thank you

Congratulations on the safe arrival of your little girl and thank you so much for sharing this with us when your day will likely be spent in a whirlwind of nappies and feeding times!

We're delighted to hear that you found the birth to be a seamless and empowering process and that your first memories as parents were of feeling nurtured and supported.

The birthing team at Royal Preston Hospital will be very touched so thank you again.
