"Very poor"

About: Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital

My mother was admitted to this so called hospital, very poorly took 7 hours for them to say she would be staying in,transferred to ward at 10pm after a long wait, no communication from any staff on the ward I had to ring all the time to ask what was happening,I am very dissatisfied with the treatment and care given, do the staff here know what they are doing or is it just a guessing game, not sure we're they do there traing I think on line as they have no poeple skills or caring attitude get your act together and start caring for the people you treat make sure you do not send them home untreated, will cost the NHS more money in the long run, Do what you are paid to do by the tax payer, start looking after patient properly it is a disgrace the NHS system ,think we live in a third world county,

Dear Sir/Madam,

I’m really sorry to hear that your mother’s recent experience with us was not at all what you had expected from our NHS. I’d like to reassure you that we always try our very best to keep patient care at the centre of everything we do, so I can only apologise that you feel your mother was not well looked after.

As I’m sure you can appreciate it is difficult for me to comment on your mother’s case specifically due to the anonymity of your post. I’d like to look into this further for you, so with your mother’s permission, please could you send her details to patient.experience@northumbria-healthcare.nhs.uk to allow me to do so. In the meantime I will certainly be passing on your review to our Emergency Department to reflect and learn from; we never want any of our patients or their families to be made to feel the way you have about our care.

I do hope your mother is feeling better and received the care that she needed.

Kind regards,

Jessica
