after having seen doctor and being referred for physio i went downhill so much so that could not sit down. This had initially started in February 2017! When the physio at the York centre became concerned for my well being and advised me to go straight to the A&E at The Royal. I waited 3 hours to be seen and when i was seen by a doctor who after consultation admitted me. At that point i was on 14 50g Tramadol a day, 12 300mg Gabapentin and 3 Amatripilne to sleep. I was still in pain after all these but managed to function.I was a lovely clean ward with fabulous staff and treated well as well as having my MRI brought forward to help diagnose. I felt so relieved that i had actually been treated and someone had taken me seriously at last. Thank you to the A&E and ward staff.
My negative was that i felt i wasn't taken seriously when i had initially been referred by my doctor and reviewed in the clinic. I was basically sent home and referred for Physio which took months. Thankfully my Physio was amazing and a huge help.
I have now had a root nerve block which doesn't seem to have done much tbh and my check up appointment is tomorrow to see what else can be done!!
I am still in pain all day and only managed to drop to 8 Tramadol with the other medication. I am back at work as an administrator on phased return but that`s not good as i have too sit at a desk all day.
Thank you to the Royal and NHS for helping me so far. Lets hope i keep receiving this help.
What would we do without the NHS its too frightening to think about
