"Bowel Screening: not as bad as I expected thanks to staff"

About: Lincoln County Hospital

(as the patient),

I’d reached 55 years old and the letter arrived explaining that I was due Bowel Screening.

I was very worried and apprehensive about attending the BS appointment, especially after reading in the leaflet what could go wrong and the embarrassment of bearing my rear end.

However all the staff were attentive, kind and informative. The whole experience was not as bad as I expected and this was due to the professional way all the staff conducted my screening.

Amanda was absolutely calming in the screening room and the whole process was over before I knew it.

The NHS get a hard time sometimes but the unit that delivered my screening got everything right. Thank you.

Dear Cotty,

Thank you very much for the positive feedback.

It is always appreciated to hear when a service has performed well and to hear that you had a good experience in the bowel screening programme reinforces the pride in the good work we do.

I shall ensure Amanda and the rest of the screening and endoscopy team receive your feedback.

Many thanks,

Kirstie Cartledge
