"A&E visit"

About: Worcestershire Royal Hospital / Accident and emergency

As an ex RGN of 45 yrs I was a little perturbed that during my husbands visit to A&E rec3ntly he and 2 other patients deemed to be low priority were asked to vacate their trolley and sit in the waiting room whilst I do not have a problem with this request, in fact I applaud the fact the less needy are nursed in the waiting room. What dismayed me was the fact these 3 patients were sat in the waiting room for 11/2 hrs and never saw a nurse/ HCA that is not in my opinion good nursing care in fact we spent 4hrs in the department and saw a nurse on handover only never to be seen again. Please I applaud the fact the less needy are being nursed In waiting rooms make sure they are indeed NURSED and at least observed every 30 minutes. I would like to say the only people who seem to be doing any nursing care are the paramedics whom I myself helped as there was no nursing staff to be seem in the packed corridors
