My elderly cousin was recently admitted to Cheltenham General following a fall in the street. While her injuries were not serious she was very confused and upset. The staff in A and E were very good inspite of being rushed off their feet on New Year's Eve and my cousin was moved promptly onto Ryeworth ward and has received excellent care and attention pending her transfer to a specialist nursing home.
In particular I would like to pay tribute to the staff on Ryeworth Ward who have such a difficult task caring for elderly patients who are often very anxious and scared. They treated my cousin and other patients with great dignity, patience and care and kept my cousin under constant supervision to ensure she was safe in spite of being short of staff on occasions. I would like to thank everyone on Ryeworth Ward for their help in looking after my cousin and hope that in spite of all the difficulties that the NHS faces at the moment that you will continue to show the professionalism and compassion that you showed my cousin. Thank you.
