I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who was involved in my mothers care after she was admitted to the Victoria hospital over the festive period. My mum became unwell very quickly, had a home visit from her Gp and was admitted to ADU1 at the Victoria hospital by ambulance. The service from the Gp and Paramedics was excellent. Very professional, very quick and very caring. ADU1 was exceptionally busy and we did have to wait (what felt like to us) long periods of time between being admitted, seeing a Dr, diagnosis, treatment etc. However again all care that was given was very professional and very caring. Everyone was working extremely hard. Mum was admitted to ADU 2 and eventually a bed in ward 52. Again the care was excellent. Unfortunately mums condition deteriorated and she was transferred to HDU. The staff in 52 responded quickly to mums deteriorating condition. The nightshift had just come on duty and again their level of professionalism was excellent. HDU care was second to none. In an ideal world this would be the care all patients receive. Mum fortunately became well enough to be transferred back to 52 for Christmas and has since been discharged home. The care not only my Mother received but the support my Father, myself, my sister and brother received was commendable. We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thanks to everyone involved in my mothers care. We appreciate the difficulties the NHS is facing, how busy services are but we can only sing the praises of everyone who looked after mum. Thanks again.
