(as a service user),

Myself and another service user attended peer to peer to Tuesday and found that there was no one here in the group. There had been no prior warning to inform myself that peer to peer was not being held today. I have been a active member/service user of the group and various other things within Ashley House for some time now and am very disappointed that was not informed of the decision (that I feel was made without the consent of the group).

I rang the person who normally attends the group and their phone was switched off. I also rang another person who considers themselves to be a core member of the group and was met with a very negative response and no reason as to why peer to peer was not on today.

I am upset at the way this group is currently being ran and feel that there is little that can be done to change it at present as a member of staff is leaving. I don't see a future for what is currently peer to peer and in my opinion this is very sad for the service users within Ashley house

Your posting has been discussed in the managers meeting ,volunteers forum and with the commissioner and we are sorry you had no prior warning that the peer to peer group was not taking place on the day you attended and that you also feel participation for you in such initiatives within Ashley House are difficult at the moment.

The Ashley House timetable of meetings and groups is being reviewed to make it clearer when such activities are being held. Please also see any of the staff in Ashley House about continuing your involvement with service user groups as we need the help of people such as yourself in taking forward the recovery agenda.
