My wife has been to springvale many times during her adult life, seeing various different people who do not understand her needs, and after a period of time then discharge her saying they can not see her indefinitely. The most recent time she was promised one to one support which did not happen, also in the meeting with the locum psychiatrist he said he did not believe a diagnosis of Autism, even though the person who diagnosed my wife is someone they use for adult referrals.
Several members of staff there have refuted the diagnosis, we believe it is because my wife has multiple diagnosis and they are not capable to deal with someone with such needs. They are very happy to prescribe drugs even though they have no effect on my wife except diazepam, which they will not give her.
Most staff seem rude and as apparently qualified mental health staff have no understanding of mental health.
"Lack of support and understanding."
