I arrived at A&E on Saturday afternoon at 13:30 on the 6th January 2018. Having fallen off a horse and dislocated my right shoulder I arrived and got to the check in desk within 5 minutes who were extremely polite and quickly able to assess the level of pain I was in, I was taken to the x-ray almost immediately and within 15 minutes it was confirmed that I had dislocated my right shoulder. I was taken to a bed and given a thorough examination by a consultant to help prescribe the drugs required. I was given morphine which helped with the pain for a while whilst the necessary people were organised to put my shoulder back in place. I was then given a general anaesthetic for a short while whilst my right arm was put back into its socket. The level of care and information I was given in such a short space of time was fantastic and I can't praise enough all those that were responsible in helping me with injury of which at the time was the most painful thing to happen to me in my 48 years. From arrival to leaving after my xrays and procedure it was just a bit over 3 hours of which is remarkable. I felt obliged to write this as i think those in A&E and the NHS in general get a tough time from the media of which my experience has always been nothing short of amazing.....many thanks, you all did a fantastic job!!!
