I was induced to have my baby 29th of september lots of complications and ended up going to theatre i could not fault the obstetrics team, however the aftercare on ward 32 was shocking. After losing 800mls of blood and in alot of pain they had no compassion. I used my buzzer for painkillers..i was in pain and upset due to the trauma i had been through to over hear the health care assistant say behind my back "well what does she expect" the most compassionate person there in the 3 days i spent there was the cleaner! You were basically left all day in your bed by staff. No emtional support even though they are fully aware of what you go through. I was offered one cup of tea a day which was the morning, staff made me feel like i was an annoyance so was reluctant to press my buzzer. I was unwell and needed a blood transfusion which i didnt get until dau 3...and no help with my baby even though i was a first time mam.
I will not use the rvi if i have another baby in the future due to the disgraceful after care if you have to stop in.
