"A & E Christmas night"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Emergency Medicine

(as a service user),

My son was admitted to ARI A& E on Christmas evening, with a severe nut allergy. I cannot express enough just how fantastic all the staff were whilst caring for my son. Everyone was highly professional, extremely attentive, calm and reassuring throughout the visit. My son was offered valuable advice as to what to do should this happen again. I would like to offer a huge thank you to all staff for their support and care during what was an already very busy Christmas evening for them.

Dear octansnh54,

Many thanks for sharing your experience regarding your son's admission to A&E on Christmas evening.

I am so pleased to hear your praise for the staff during what must have been a frightening experience for both you and your son.

The staff work hard to ensure that they provide care in a calming and professional manner and that care is person centered. I am also reassured that the staff were able to offer additional advice to you both should a similar episode occur again.

Appreciating that this event took place during Christmas evening, I hope you both managed to enjoy some of the festive celebrations.

With thanks and best wishes

Fiona Robertson Chief Nurse
