After having phoned 111 during the afternoon of Saturday my husband was given an out of hours appointment at 11;30pm at the Airedale hospital.
He had severe pain in his abdomen and was very jaundiced.
We were seen by the GP there who barely spoke to us as he was too busy banging on his computer keyboard.
He didn't really listen to what my husband was saying to him, and hardly examined him!!
He sent him away with some antibiotics for a UTI emphasizing that he needed to visit his own GP on the Monday.
We did visit the GP on the Monday, who immediately referred my husband to the hospital (BRI) to be admitted due to the pain he was experiencing and his very obvious jaundice!!!!
Within 6 hours (Sitting about at the hospital, with nothing to eat or drink) he had been diagnosed with gallstones blocking bile ducts in the liver.
Not life threatening but he could have been more comfortable had he been given the correct diagnosis on the Saturday night!
I'm at a loss for words!
"Not Yellow Enough!"
