My name is Maggie and I'm a peer outreach volunteer at Ashley House. Our group was funded by our local DAT and we all attended "seize the day!" service user conference in Birmingham.

There was at least 500 delegates from all over the country, who all shared ideas to each others groups. An MP from the Houses of Parliament gave a speech about the new drug strategy and how this will affect us all, service users and workers.

There was lots of topics discussed from benefits, harm reduction, recovery. Our group really enjoyed our day there and we learned lots. Hopefully peer outreach will be able to attend other events in the future.

Maggie - first of all thank you for attending the conference and i'm glad you found it useful. hopefully you will have also picked up some ideas from other areas and service users that we could find useful here in Halton. if you have, why not post them on this site for other people at Ashley House to have a look at and think about? i'm keen to make sure we have as many people as possible - staff, service users, carers, family members - involved in and contributing to how we make your services better. thanks again.
