I have been in the care of my Consultant Dr Murray assisted by Dr Goodfellow since 2015 and recently also Dr Ramachandran. The diagnosis and treatment I have received for a rare auto immune brain condition has been excellent, I have had 2 relapses during this period. At every stage of my treatment plan I have been fully involved in the decision making. As an experienced nurse of 30 years this is very important to me. Communication and a plan on how to access the service has been reassuring for me. The introduction of the testing for antibodies in Encephalitis now being undertaken in Glasgow with a quick turn around has been of huge benefit to me personally. Previously blood samples went to Oxford and mine took 1 month to be processed. Having an answer in less than 1 week allowed me to start prompt treatment. I can’t thank all the team enough for caring for me.
