"Lovely staff"

About: Royal Oldham Hospital / Cardiology

In October 2017 I ended up with a rare form of heart failure after the delivery of my twins, the staff on the labour ward worked well with the cardiology team to quickly find out what was wrong with me after ruling out post partum pre eclampsia. I was treated and monitored on the labour ward for 4 days and visited by the cardiology consultant alongside other consultants before it was decided to move me to the CCU. Once on the CCU the staff were lovely and caring and supported me after being moved away from my newly born twins, the next 2 days I was on monitors 24/7 and given regular medication whenever I asked staff they thoroughly explained what each medication was for and reassured me when the monitors changed. They also allowed me to have the twins on the ward with me all day which helped me during a difficult period. I was discharged after 6 days fully aware of my condition and what to expect next.

I have since had a follow up in the outpatients department and I was pleased with the nurses and my consultants care whilst being there again everything was explained well and I felt fully supported.
