"Hard working staff but ....."

About: Northern General Hospital / Accident and emergency

Very concerned that my 95 year old relative with dementia and a hip fracture was left on a trolley waiting for x-ray unattended.

Huntsman 7 overcrowded and frantic.

Vickers 4 staff lovely and obviously work very hard.

We brought in food after asking staff if this was suitable e.g. tins of soup, green tea bags, etc to encourage eating and drinking.

It was not used.

A&E overloaded our relative was not catherterised despite several requests from a doctor.

Nurse was great.

Thank you for leaving feedback. I am very sorry to learn of your concerns and that aspects of your relatives experience do not appear to reflect the high levels of care we aim to provide for our patients. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like us to look into this in more detail. You can do this by contacting our Patient Services Team, either by calling them on 0114 271 2400 or by emailing them at pst@sth.nhs.uk

With thanks and kind regards
