As the mother of an accident prone 8 yr old boy, an energetic 4yr old girl, that not only gets every virus going but also has amazing aim..... If the target is her mothers eye!!! and the daughter of a man that in the space of 2 weeks went in for aortic aneurism surgery but came out with a heart stent.
To being blue lighted to treliske a week later with a burst aortic aneurysm, I think it's fair to say i could become a tour guide for the hospital. I've visited friends with cancer and friends in critical care and I can honestly say
I have not come across a member of staff that hasn't amazed me. My dad received the best care any one could ask for whilst the hospital was on black alert. His specialist was on leave and rushed in to save my dad's life. The odds couldn't have been further against us and the entire vascular team are miracle workers. Same for critical care, I know 3 people that have required the critical care services this year and the team have been phenomenal. They have such a hard job yet they show you the same compassion they show their patients. All the personnel at Treliske should feel proud at what they do and how they cope under such strenuous circumstances. Thankyou!! You are all amazing. Also I had both my babies at Treliske, one at 6.01pm, 1 at 8.32pm. Both times the incredibly excited grandparents were allowed to come and meet their grandchildren out of hours. It made the whole experience so much more special to be able to share it with our parents.
