"Bad customer service"

About: Droylsden Medical Practice

Due to incurring major back pain and problems with my chest i have had to visit the surgery several times and was referred to a+e as as it was severe. I have since had to have various x-rays which have had to be referred to from my gp. So hence i have been back and forth from the surgery to the hospital for some time. I realise that there are various procedures that are involved in the medical profession and i am aware of this. However after suffering from the extreme pain that i am currently going through i was advised after my last x-ray to get some more medicated cream from my gp to help ease the pain before any surgery is confirmed and undertaken. I eventually got through to my surgery and spoke to a receptionist and she advised me that they would get my gp to reissue my medicated cream has it had run out. I was told to ring back later and spoke to a receptionist again. My call was then passed onto someone else who advised that i'd had too much cream( i've only had 2 tubes in 8 weeks!) and that i should buy it over the counter at the chemist or i could go the pound shop!?! I replied that i would i attend a+e as i was in severe pain to which she replied that i would be wasting nhs time!?! As i have been suffering with severe pain for some time i had.already purchased cream from the pound shop previously which reacted to my skin and had actually burnt it. Overall the service i have received from the surgery has been diabolical and i will be taking it further.

Dear Patient,

Please accept our apology for the way you feel you have been dealt with. In order for us to investigate your complaint we would appreciate if you could contact the surgery and request to speak to the Practice Manager or the Assistant Practice Manager, if they are not available at that time, please leave a message with one of the Receptionists and they will get back to you.

The Practice works hard to give a high quality service to all patients and would like with your help to investigate further.

Many Thanks
