"Dislocated Jaw"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Accident and emergency

My 100 year old Mum dislocated her jaw at about midnight and was taken to QMC by Ambulance . She was very quickly assessed, blood taken,X-rays done andseen by a doctor who tried with the aid of a Sister and gas and air to have her jaw re-located unfortunately in vain ! She was taken to Resus to have another go under anaesthetic, still no luck ! All this time the female Doctor and all the nursing staff (especially the one particular nurse) were exceptionally kind and informative .Mums jaw was eventually put in place by a specialist consultant ,another very kind and professional medic. I cannot thank all the staff we came into contact with enough for your kindness, compassion, professionalism all sprinkled with humour which my Mum loved.

The Drs who stayed with us all the time is certainly worth a special mention,a real credit to the NHS

I’m sorry to hear about your mum’s injury, which must have been painful and distressing.

I’m so glad that your mum received prompt care and treatment and that everyone she saw was able to put you all at ease.

I’ve shared your kind words with the team in the Emergency Department. Thank you once again for taking the time to get in touch.

Kind regards

Jane Newton
