"My Dad in ED"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Accident and emergency

My 77 year old father was taken by EMAS (who are also amazing!) after a bad fall where is split his head open and is on Apixaban so there was concern he may have internal bleeding. Despite it being so unbelievably busy the staff were absolute stars- all polite, friendly and professional. He had to wait to be assessed in IAU and was checked on by cheery staff regularly before being fully triaged and sent to Majors.

A lovely Dr did a though exam post CT scan number 1. After another CT and some artful stitching to a huge head wound he was released and I took him home.

Thank you ED staff, you are literally all so amazing!!!!!

Thanks for dropping us a line Amy – it is greatly appreciated. I’ve shared your feedback with our Emergency Department staff who asked me to pass on their thanks. I am pleased to hear your dad is now back home resting and we wish him a speedy recovery.

Best wishes
