"Can we please look at all the bits of healthcare together?"

About: North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust / Older people's mental health

(as a carer),

I find in general, and I think it's probably the same all over the country, that physical health problems are dealt with very seperately to mental health problems. My husband has some health problems, and also has dementia. He has someone who overlooks his mental health care, and another person who takes care of his health problems. I don't think they've ever spoken. This doesn't make any sense to me.

His health problems and his dementia definitely have a big impact on each other, so it makes sense to me that they would all be looked at together - or atleast the two people would be talking to each other.

His care in both respects is good, I don't really want to complain about either but I just wish they'd speak to each other. I think this is probably the same all around the country.

Thank you very much for taking the time to post your comment at the recent engagement event at the Willfield Centre. All comments are being collated and will be used to inform the development of the options for mental health services.

Once the options have been finalised you will be informed that the options are ready for formal consultation. We hope that you will continue to provide your feedback which will inform the future direction of services for Combined Healthcare.

With kind regards
